The architectural history of Stockholm is impressive. Old buildings are well preserved, since the city was spared destruction during the World Wars. Stockholm is becoming increasingly important as a center for Swedish design. The Swedish style is known for its clean lines, light colors and natural materials. Many museums display truly stunning works, and Stockholm�s shopping districts are great places to hunt for terrific finds.
