Dizzying View from the Kaknästornet Tower.

There is one tower in Stockholm that offers a better view than any other—from the Kaknästornet you can see as far as 36 miles in good weather. You’ll get a view of everything from the Stadshuset (City Hall) and the Globe Arena, to the impressive buildings around the Hötorget square and the city’s famous waters, and, finally, to the county’s outlying areas stretching off into the distance. At roughly 500 feet and with its 34 stories, the Kaknästornet is one of the tallest buildings in Northern Europe. The areas surrounding the tower are also well worth a visit—Kaknästornet is located in an area that has been known since 1995 as Ekoparken, which is the first national urban park in the world. Right around the corner is an adventure park for the kids.

Enjoy an excellent meal at high altitude in Restaurang Kaknästornet, which is located on the 28th floor and features a restaurant, bistro and cafe. In addition to à la carte dishes, the menu features traditional Swedish home cooking. There is no entrance fee if you remember to reserve a table in advance.

The ground floor of the tower contains a souvenir shop featuring a wide variety of items such as Swedish handicrafts.

Make sure to take a guided tour of the tower and view while you’re there. You can rent a set of headphones in the lobby that will describe the things you see from the tower. Groups can also book a tour guide for a small fee.

The Kaknästornet also contains a unique hologram gallery featuring some 50 pictures, as well as items such as bookmarks, earrings and stickers for sale.

Kaknästornet is located at Ladugårdsgärdet on Norra Djurgården. Bus 69 from Sergels Torg will take you almost all the way there. By car, take Djurgårdsbrunnsvägen to Kaknäsvägen and turn onto Mörka Kroken. There is plenty of parking space available. The tower and the restaurant are easily accessible to people in wheelchairs. Facilities for the disabled are located on the ground floor.

Kaknästornet is owned and operated by Teracom, which provides TV and radio transmission services in Sweden. Stockholm Information Service is in charge of the tower’s public facilities. Would you like to know more about Teracom and Kaknästornet’s position as the ”spider in the web” of TV and radio transmissions? Teracom
