Drottningholm Palace
The Drottningholm Palace, situated by lake M�laren, 15 km from Stockholm, dates from the 17th century. Drottningholm is Sweden's Royal Residence and is built along the lines of Versailles and situated in breathtaking grounds. The 18th century Royal Court Theatre is the world's oldest playhouse and its original scene-changing machinery is still intact. The palace, together with the court theatre, its park and Chinese Pavilion which is situated there, are one of the five Swedish cultural heritages that are noted on UNESCO's list for world preservation.
