The Stockholm school of Economics (SSE), founded in 1909, is the oldest private Swedish Institute of university standing. Research occuies a central position at SSE and the educational programs offered in Economics and Business Administration are research based. A natural and vital part of the School's strategy is its international focus. Close ties with Swedish multinational organisations provide insight into the multi-faced challanges of global business and ensure an international oriented curriculum. the faculty consists of some 35 professors and around 60 associated, assistant and adjunkt professors. Around 1 600 students are enrolled in the master of Science Program and some 240 students are working toward their doctural degree.
